About Felt
Birmingham, England's Felt were quietly one of the most influential bands of the U.K. indie/post-punk scene of the 1980s. Heavily influenced by the music of New York City's Television, Felt, led by Lawrence Hayward, played an austere and cerebral style of pop that was still effortlessly catchy. The band's ten-year run was split between time on Cherry Red and Creation Records, two of England's most esteemed indies. The various members, including Hayward, went on to various solo projects following the band's demise at the end of the '80s, but never achieved the revered cult status of Felt.
