About Los Chichos
Founded in 1973 in Madrid, Spain, Los Chicos is a popular rhumba band whose legacy spans several decades. The band's musical style evolved over the years, fusing rhumba flamenco with pop/rock to varying degrees. Los Chicos made their full-length album debut in 1974 and released a new album each year until 1985. The popularity of Los Chicos peaked during the early to mid-'80s and declined during the late '80s as the band's relationship with original vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Juan Antonio Jiménez had become increasingly problematic. After his departure from the band in 1990, Los Chicos regrouped, but were never again as prolific, releasing just five albums throughout the '90s and 2000s. ~ Jason Birchmeier
