Milton Brown & His Musical Brownies

About Milton Brown & His Musical Brownies

With his band the Musical Brownies, Milton Brown created seminal western swing music throughout the early '30s and laid the initial groundwork for Bob Wills' later success in the genre. A fatal automobile crash may have been all that prevented Brown from matching Wills' status as a chief figure in the genre. Notable among the Musical Brownies was Bob Dunn, a highly talented slide guitarist who first pioneered the amplified steel guitar.
