A dance-based outfit made up of true rock fans, Taken By Cars have proven through several acclaimed LPs that their hip-shaking is just as solid as their headbanging—merging their love for shoegaze, electroclash and ’80s rock with reverb-drenched female vocals. The synth punks were catapulted to fame on the wings of 2008’s monster hit “Uh Oh”, a single that led Pinoy rockers back to the dance floor to bump booties with the rave kids. The band’s beats and blips were so tasty that Time magazine took note in 2011, and they continue to expand their sonic palette.
