Typical of unlicensed European reissues credited to the team of Nelson Eddy & Jeanette MacDonald, Castle Pulse's Indian Love Call, as it admits on its cover, is really a "collection of duets & solo performances." Specifically, there are exactly four actual duets between Eddy & MacDonald: "Indian Love Call," "Farewell to Dreams," "Ah! Sweet Mystery of Life," and "Will You Remember?". "Beyond the Blue Horizon," which is credited as a duet on the back cover, is actually one of MacDonald's eight solo recordings; Eddy also has eight. All the tracks are studio recordings borrowed without acknowledgement from the archives of Columbia and RCA Victor Records. While the recordings, as shown in the publishing dates, do come from the period 1930-1940, those publishing dates are frequently off by a year or more. For example, Eddy's recording of "Lover, Come Back to Me" was made on July 18, 1940, so the recording could not have been published in 1934, as it says in the CD booklet. In any case, this is a reasonable, if not outstanding collection of some of Eddy & MacDonald's most memorable studio recordings, together and solo, along with some lesser known material, in adequate sound quality.

In his spare time, Eddy was also a painter and sculptor, and before he decided to pursue singing as a full-time occupation, was...
