A far cry from their punky beginnings, Death in Vegas' Transmission embraces chilly Euro synths and Ballardian drones. For their sixth album, Richard Fearless joined forces with vocalist Sasha Grey, who oozes cool all over the record's soft Italo disco (“Flak”), intense synth arpeggios (“Metal Box”) and malevolent techno. It shifts nimbly between monochromatic intensities: “Strom” orbits on woozy, circular whispers, but segues into “You Disco I Freak”, eight minutes of ricocheting mania.

A DJ at big-beat melting pot the Sunday Social alongside the Chemical Brothers and Jon Carter, Richard Fearless formed the studio project Death in Vegas to pump out a similar type of audio adrenaline.
