iKanji touch is a powerful kanji study and training tool covering over 2,000 JLPT and school grade jouyou kanji.

- Kanji are grouped by grade and JLPT and subdivided into sets of 20 for easy practice.
- Includes 2010 jouyou kanji.
- Reference ‘cards’ for each kanji with readings, stroke count, radical etc.
- Vocabulary browser with JLPT based sets
- Hear vocabulary pronounced using the Japanese text-to-speech facility
- List of example compounds for each kanji.
- Leitner System based spaced repetition Teach Me mode.
- Reading test to quiz you on kanji readings (onyomi and kunyomi).

Please note all kanji readings (onyomi and kunyomi) are in hiragana and katakana only. Romaji is not used in this application.

Hervorragende Lernhilfe

Die App ist eine ausgezeichnete Ergänzung traditioneller Lernmethoden. Statt zu daddeln, während man auf den Bus wartet, kann man mit ihr seine Zeit sinnvoll nutzen.

Sie ist aber schon deshalb kein Ersatz für ein gutes Wörterbuch (The New Nelson oder Kanji & Kana von Hadamitzky und Spohn), weil sie zwar verschiedene Lesarten und auch Bedeutungen der Kanji angibt, nicht aber welche Lesart zu welcher Bedeutung gehört.

Please add German to iKanji

I love this app. I really do. I bought it for my Mac and I bought the wohle bundle for my iPad. But: I really wish iKanji would finally add the German language. I do not want to learn Japanese vocabulary by translating everything from English into my Mothertongue German. That never works well, because so many words have different meanings in different contexts. That is not an effective way to learn a language. Please add German. You already have English, French and Spanish.

I really like the interface. But I'd really like the option to study "all" the JLPT Kanji for a level, not just a few ...
