Charlie Brown

About Charlie Brown

British singer/songwriter Charlie Brown is a contemporary R&B vocalist who cites Craig David and John Legend as his main influences. A South London native, Brown spent ten years as a songwriter for other pop artists before nabbing the spotlight with his 2013 single, "On My Way." In 2003, Brown was discovered by television producer and Pop Idol creator Simon Fuller, who signed him to a songwriting contract. Subsequently, Brown worked behind the scenes on various Fuller productions, including Canadian Idol, as well as with a variety of artists including Jay Sean, Frank Ocean, the Script's Mark Sheehan and Danny O'Donoghue, and others. Always keeping an eye on starting his own singing career, Brown kept writing songs for himself and in 2013 released the single "On My Way." The song quickly reached the Top Ten in the U.K. singles charts and helped launch Brown's solo career. ~ Matt Collar
