After being involved in a horrific car crash, in which a child is killed, struggling Canadian author Tomas (James Franco) cannot handle the guilt and attempts to take his own life. Miraculously surviving the attempt, he's given a second chance at life. Thanks to his new girlfriend, he slowly starts to process the tragic events though his writing. But he still can't face the deceased child's surviving brother, Christopher. Years later, when Christopher breaks into his house and Tomas finds him in the basement, he has no choice but to face the truth of what he had done. Oscar® nominees filmmaker Wim Wenders (Paris, Texas; Wings of Desire), and James Franco (127 Hours) team with an acclaimed international cast for this intimate tale of guilt and one man's lifetime search for forgiveness.
