These examples span several genres and periods, representative of the wealth of historic documents to follow: From a 1907 aria of opera star Titta Ruffo to Louis Armstrong’s 1934 recording of the famous St. Louis Blues; composer Mascagni conducting himself his most famous Intermezzo, plus early examples of exquisite recordings from violinist Mischa Elman, Thomanerchor Leipzig singing Bach, and a typical 1920’s Berlin couplet by Otto Reutter.
