Album Review

All the Rivers Gold is Terry Oldfield's take on Celtic atmospheres and passion. He has proven to be adept at performing in many worldbeat styles; this effort is strong also. Oldfield covers traditional Celtic styles on pipes and strings. He augments those elements with deep atmospheric electronics, nature samples, and sweet vocal accompaniment. The sound design and mix incorporate the vocals as another instrument. Oldfield, per his modus operandi, has added his own flair to a traditional style of music. Deep listeners will feel the soft earth of Ireland and the salt air of the ocean and the channel. This special disc will appeal to fans of Enya, Bill Whelan, and Loreena McKennitt.
