Album Review

The third album by reggaeton duo Alexis & Fido, Down to Earth (2009), is chock-full of highlights, including a bunch of singles and some first-rate collaborations. It's similar in style to its predecessors, The Pitbulls (2005) and Sobrenatural (2007), which were likewise bolstered by numerous hits and collaborations. On this 14-track effort, the Puerto Rican duo collaborates with some of reggaeton's top producers (Tainy, Nely, Nesty, Mambo Kingz) and vocalists (Don Omar, Toby Love). "Súbete," "Ojos Que No Ven," and "Bartender" were the biggest hits.

Though both Raul "Alexis" Ortiz and Joel "Fido" Martinez were active in the Puerto Rican reggaeton scene since they were teenagers, they didn't join forces until 2001 on the compilation Desafio.
