Shaggy & Friends

Shaggy & Friends

Born in Jamaica and raised in Brooklyn, Shaggy scored a gigantic hit with his 1995 anthem "Boombastic," and had two more huge singles in 2000 with the infidelity opus "It Wasn't Me" and its follow-up "Angel." His 2002 release Lucky Day managed to go keep up the success. A Best of Shaggy collection dropped in 2008, which is usually the end of the road. But don't count him out yet. He's stayed busy performing overseas at various festivals and sporting events, and now breaks us off with Limited Edition, his first new album since 2007, and one that finds him collaborating with an assortment of other artists like Rayvon, Ty-Arie, Tony Gold, and Sting International. It’s got everything we would expect and hope for from a new Shaggy record, namely insanely catchy reggae/pop/dance music production and lyrics that are a little bit naughty but never dirty, more concerned with having fun than starting trouble. Check out "Can't Fight This Feeling" and "I'm Rebel."
