Wants World Women (Bonus Track Edition)

One of the most talented and popular singer/producers associated with the neo-soul movement, Dwele has been impressing listeners since early in the millennium, working with fellow Motown residents Slum Village and their late, great beat maestro J Dilla. Though he started off as a rapper, he soon shifted into soul-singer mode, releasing his official debut album Subject in 2003. Seven years later he returns with his fourth full-length, a conceptual record broken into three parts that examine material desires, global politics, and (of course), the ladies. Clocking in at 17 tracks, it includes more collaborations than his previous efforts, pairing him up with an assortment of artists including David Banner ("Dodgin' Your Phone"), Raheem DeVaughn ("Dim The Lights"), Monica Blaire on the sublime "Detroit Sunrise" and West Coast legend DJ Quik on the head-nodding closer "I Wanna." Be sure to check out both singles, "What's Not to Love" and "I Wish" plus the self-explanatory "Love You Right."
