About Align

Playing a powering rally of emo, hardcore, and alternative metal, Align's deliverance of potent rock & roll discloses the band's inspirations coming from bands such as Quicksand or Helmet. Starting of in 1996, in Minneapolis, MN, Align comprised the expertise of drummer Matt Roesch and guitarist Matt Payne. With the following additions of vocalist Nate Roise and of bassist Erik Kofoed, the band managed to record their first demo tape shortly afterward. Succeeding a considerable number of live performances in the following year, Kofoed and Roise departed and were substituted by John McEwen and Jeremy Jessen, respectively. The crew then began to tour intensively before they were able to record their first discs. Down River and Sing.Rock.Rhythm.Beats, two EPs delivered in 1998 and in 1999, eventually sold out and contributed to the squad's ever-growing notability. In late 2000, Align gathered the wizardry of producer Roger Stein and Jeff Tomei, the latter previously worked with the Smashing Pumpkins and C.O.C., to produce what came to be the team's full-length debut, Some Breaking News. Counting on with the contribution of Helmet's drummer John Stanier, the album hit the record stores in late 2001 on the Iguana Records label. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges
