A singer and songwriter from Louisville, Kentucky, Casey Jame revealed her penchant for singing at the age of two, and by the time she was nine years old, she was performing on-stage in front of audiences. After learning how to play piano and guitar, she began putting melodies to some of the poems she had been writing, and was soon co-writing songs with the likes of Matt Bronleewe, Phil Madeira, and Lynn Nichols. She released a debut album, actually a five-song EP called Casey Jame (produced by Nichols in Nashville), in 2008 when she was only 13 years old. Positive, bright, and full of tween concerns and singalong pop hooks, the EP also showed that Jame had a more than solid voice, and her fresh-scrubbed, everygirl look and approach suggested a bright future in the pop music industry. Perhaps impulsive and impressionable because of her young years, Jame changed her name to Jaimes in 2010 after seeing a contestant named James on the American Idol television show, and began work on a second studio project.
