Edoardo Catemario

About Edoardo Catemario

Edoardo Catemario has taken his guitar music great distances from his native Naples, Italy. He has performed with the Mexico State Orchestra and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and in the St. Petersburg Philharmonia's Bolshoi Zal. He also frequently is found giving masterclasses at such places as London's Royal Academy, Salzburg's Mozarteum, the Leipzig Conservatory, and Paris' Conservatoire International. Catemario was only 11 years old when he gave his first solo recital. His repertoire today covers most of the solo guitar music from the Baroque to modern eras, and over 30 concertos, plus many chamber music works for guitar duet or guitar with other instruments. Some of the latter include Carpe Diem by Gerard Drozd and I racconti di Mamma Orca by Roberto De Simone, both for guitar and string quartet and both written for Catemario. Catemario has recorded the concertos of Mauro Giuliani and several other discs for the Arts Music label, and in 2007 signed with Decca. His first album with that label was Bach for Guitar, and his third, España, was released in 2011.
