About Gary Clark

Meeting at the crossroads of affectionate sophisti-pop, lush soft rock, and more passionate college rock, Gary Clark is known as a member of U.K. trio Danny Wilson as well as for his work as a soloist, songwriter/producer for hire, and soundtrack composer. His group scored a U.S. Top 30 and U.K. Top Three hit with "Mary's Prayer" from 1987's Meet Danny Wilson. They only delivered one more LP before disbanding, and Clark issued a similarly styled solo album, Ten Short Songs About Love, in 1993. He soon began racking up producing and songwriting credits for the likes of Natalie Imbruglia, Nick Carter, and Lloyd Cole, contributing to Demi Lovato's Billboard 200-topping album Here We Go Again (2009) and Delta Goodrem's Australian number two, Child of the Universe (2012). A later partnership with film director John Carney produced soundtracks including 2016's Sing Street and 2023's Flora and Son.
