Wax Idols

About Wax Idols

Wax Idols began in 2011 as the solo vehicle for Bay Area musician Heather Fedewa, aka Hether Fortune. Fedewa had been working as musician around town in the garage/punk scene, doing time as a member of Hunx & His Punx and Bare Wires for a time, and also actively working with Blasted Canyons at the time of Wax Idols' inception. The band's sound was rooted in punk, but with dark gothic undertones. Wax Idols' debut came in the form of the All Too Human 7" in 2011, followed by the full-length No Future later the same year. By the time of 2013's much darker, post-punk inspired Discipline and Desire, the project became a full-fledged band featuring guitarist/vocalist Jen Mundy, bassist Amy Rosenoff and drummer Keven Tecon. ~ Fred Thomas
