On their third album, Frankenchrist, U.S. punk icons Dead Kennedys slowed their tempo and experimented with new sounds, resulting in one of the most ambitious punk offerings of the '80s. "Goons of Hazard" glides along on distorted twang-punk guitars while frontman Jello Biafra tears into concepts of American machismo, and the multi-suite "MTV-Get Off the Air" is a trumpet-laden apocalyptic jeremiad against the evils of corporate rock ‘n’ roll.
