About Jeff Tweedy

Of the artists who rose from the alt-country scene of the '80s and '90s, none would have a higher profile or a more eclectic body of work than Jeff Tweedy. With Uncle Tupelo, Tweedy helped kickstart the fusion of punk, alternative, and country known as alt-country. Their breakup led to Tweedy founding Wilco; 1995's A.M. was firmly in the tradition of his previous band, and 1996's Being There was a daring, eclectic effort that made them one of America's most-respected indie rock bands. Tweedy has also worked with a variety of other projects, including Golden Smog, the Minus Five, and Tweedy (a band featuring Jeff and his son Spencer Tweedy). He started his career as a solo artist with 2016's solo acoustic Together at Last, and later delivered three albums of intimate, personal songs, 2018's Warm, its 2019 companion Warmer, and 2020's introspective Love Is the King.
