About Prince Far I
Known for his deep, soulful delivery and booming neo-dancehall chants, Prince Far I was one of dub's most renowned vocalists. The one-time Studio One bodyguard got his break when legendary reggae producer Coxsone Dodd invited him to sing on a track he was finishing up while Far I was standing guard. After a string of several genre defining releases in the late 1970s, Far I moved to England in the early '80s were he began a fruitful partnership with British dub producer Adrian Sherwood. Sadly, Far I was shot dead in is prime on the streets of Kingston in 1982.
