The Mr. T Experience

About The Mr. T Experience

Often referred to as simply MTX, American punk rock outfit the Mr. T Experience emerged from the same Bay Area scene that would spawn Green Day, Operation Ivy, and NOFX. Employing a refreshing brand of satirical punk-pop that focuses on goofy pop culture references and catchy melodies, the band is helmed by singer/guitarist and sole constant member Frank Portman, who, between 1986 and 2004, endured countless lineup changes but managed to issue ten full-length albums, including lauded efforts like Our Bodies Our Selves (1993) and Love Is Dead (1996). A 12-year hiatus, during which Portman focused on his writing career, preceded the release of MTX's 11th long-player, 2016's King Dork Approximately, The Album. Shards MTX, a series of B-sides and rarities compilations, appeared in the late 2010s and early 2020s.
