A psych folk duo consisting primarily of Donovan Quinn and ex-Thuja member Glenn Donaldson with revolving guests, Skygreen Leopards hail from the city that made psychedelia famous, San Francisco. With a decidely west coast looseness and brightness, the duo create layered lullabies for the mellowest trip ever. Across several labels in the '00s, their creative arc began with albums mixing improvisational acoustic psych with field recorded nature sounds and developed on later albums as a more crafted--but still mellow--Cali psych pop. Their albums highlight breezy, odd harmonies that sound like the Everly Brothers singing the Opal catalog. The band is one of the most prominent acts from San Francisco's Jewelled Antler collective, a group of like-minded folk experimentalists.
