Publisher Description

Introduction: What is the Fraser Basin? When people think of the Fraser Basin, they often focus on the lower 10 percent of the Fraser River--Hell's Gate, the Fraser Valley farmlands, the busy Port of Vancouver, and the Fraser Estuary. They may read about proposed development projects in tributaries such as the Nechako and the Thompson, but do not realize that these projects are located in the Fraser Basin. Many people live in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, or near one of the Fraser's many tributaries, yet they may not understand that they actually live, work, and play in the basin, and collectively affect its sustainability.
