Actio - The Activity & Participation Tracker
By Michael Surran

Originally created as "toy" app to track excessive talkers in business meetings, Actio has since become a serious and popular tool in education for tracking student participation, science experiments, sporting events, and much more!
Actio uses a grid of timers that are tied to one or more group of members. Tapping a timer starts the clock. Normally tapping a different timer will "hand off" the active roll, turning off the previous timer. This is great for classroom settings where one person is speaking, relay races, etc. You can change this behavior to concurrent mode to allow multiple timers to run at the same time.
Actio keeps track of the total time each member is active in a given event, and provides graphs and statistics to help you visualize how much each member was active. Actio internally tracks more specific detail, including the exact dates and times each member was active. This raw data can be exported in CSV format to be archived and analyzed in any modern spreadsheet.
Once you create your groups and add new members, Actio remembers these groups for future events. This is great for education, as you can have multiple classes stored in Actio. You can even start an event with one group, pause that event, start a different event for another group, and then go back to the original event later in the day or week and pick up where you left off!
Actio’s strength is its simplicity - it is very easy, intuitive, and fast to use. This allows you to stay focused on your event, not our app. Actio is a great tool for education, business, or anywhere you need to easily track the activity of multiple participants.
What's New in Version 2.0
Our app has a new name! While Actio maintains all the functionality of the previously-named Meeting Monopolizer Monitor, we’ve added a multitude of features that take this app from being a toy to being a serious tool. These features include:
Members and Groups - You can now create members (people, objects, etc) and add them to one or more groups. Actio remembers these groups and makes it very quick and easy to start a new event for each group you’ve created.
Member Photos - It’s simple to provide a photo for each member you add to Actio. This photo is the centerpiece of the new timer design, allowing you to quickly find and tap timers during an event with a large number of participants.
Concurrent Mode - The default timer behavior is to turn off the previously active timer when a different timer is tapped, but now you can change this behavior in the settings to allow multiple timers to be active concurrently.
Dynamic Statistics - You can now view graphs and statistics during an event and watch these statistics update live.
Shareable Statistics - Statistics can be emailed to yourself or others for archival and analysis. These stats include CSV files that can be used to create custom spreadsheets.
A Modern, Universal Design - Actio embraces the latest design patterns from iOS 8, and it now takes full advantage of the iPad and new iPhone screen sizes to provide a flexible user interface even when working with larger groups.
Despite all these changes, we’ve kept the simplicity that made Meeting Monopolizer Monitor so easy and fun to use. We thank YOU for providing the feedback that inspired this latest version of our app!
