Question: An expansion seems gone after an update or reinstallation of Catan or after restoring the device?
Answer: Don’t worry, your initial purchase is already saved in your iTunes account. You can restore your InApp purchases by selecting the restore-option in the Catan IAP menu.
Question: I lost my campaign progress after reinstalling, updating or restoring my device. Is there any way to restore it?
Answer: When saved games can’t be automatically restored, we’ve integrated a cheat code: In the campaign mode go to select player and enter "CatanWarp*" (* = 1–15) as your player name and confirm. Exit the game via the home button and restart it. The campaign can now be continued from the specified level number (1–15). Levels up to the specified number will be unlocked in the custom game mode as well.
Question: Are dice rolls really random?
Answer: Of course! All dice rolls are 100% random and not modified in any way. We’re avid Catan players ourselves. We’ve played the iOS version hundreds of times while developing the program. There have been times when we won and lost a few games in a row because of the dice - just like when playing the board game!

Fun, but glitchy
First and foremost this is a great game and a great value. I've read other reviews about the computer AI cheating, which may or may not be true. With that in mind it is very challenging and sometimes the dice are just not with you, I have never noticed the AI cheating, but I'm not looking for or analyzing the computer either.
My only real problem with the game is that it seems to have a problem sometimes with the touch interface. Many times, especially when moving the robber, it's difficult to move icons on the screen. This may be a lag issue, and it doesn't happen all the time. The other bug is the screen freezes or crashes. The fix all for any glitch I've encountered is exiting the game and deleting it from running it in the background, then restarting the game. This is all just annoying, but the game itself is well worth the money and glitch trouble you have while playing.
One minor annoyance also is that if you buy this game on one device, say your iPhone, and you want to play it on another device, like your iPad, you have to buy it again. Maybe there was a lot of work getting it to play on another device, but it's important to know that since its such an addictive game.
Fun, but Computer will cheat and buggy
Let me clarify: if you play against 3 computers, you aren't playing 3 separate computer players, you play 1 computer playing 3 hands. For example, the computers play knight cards and robbed me 13 times in one game! I played the other knight card. Of the 15 times the robber was thrown, I was robbed 11 times. The computer will not trade with you when you get close to winning, but will happily trade with computer players about to win. Also, the computer does seem to know if you get victory point cards and adjust it's strategy accordingly. I do find myself playing games where the dice rolls don't go my way, for example rolling more 3s than 8s or 3 7s in a row after my turn for a couple of rounds, but it's hard for me to say definitively that the computer cheats in this way and it's not just chance. Just know that the computer is playing three hands together to beat you. As for the bugs, it has some serious problems with the statistics , probably so it makes it harder to look up and see how badly the computer is cheating! I played this game a lot, but it does get old after awhile.
I enjoy playing this game, and I play it regularly. It has improved my win rate. For the most part, no major bugs or glitches. Four stars though because there are two things that bother me:
1-I cannot change name of Player 1 (that would be me)
2-computer players "cheat". By this I mean that a few times, when I have watched VERY carefully, on their first turn (after setting up the beginning two settlements), the computer players are able to build a third road, when they have either no wood resources from either settlement, or no bricks. I checked for trades but since I can only guess based on the original offer, I may be mistaken. I do know it has happened on opening plays, obviously with no trades prior to the dice roll. While I can't say how often this happens, that it happens at all? Some programming needs fixing.
