MagicReader is a Touch-Free book reader. You can flip through pages just by turning your head!
Turn your face sideways to move pages, just as if you were touching the screen.
For example, you can
* Read while eating with both hands,
* Read a recipe while cooking, and never have to touch the screen,
* Read a musical score while playing an instrument,
* Read a book while holding a baby in your arms,
* Go through documents while typing on a keyboard.
We believe there are countless more useful ways to use MagicReader to help the way you read things!
MagicReader is also a very FAST book reader. Depending on how fast you move your fingers, you can scroll through pages with no time-lag. Also, by pressing down the side of the screen, you can flip through pages just like a real book.
* PDF, Zip, and CBZ files.
* Compatible image file formats are: .jpg .png .gif .tiff and .bmp
More formats will be supported in near future!
We plan to continue improving the accuracy of the system, so stay tuned for updates!
Some features we plan to add very soon:
*Book selection without touching.
*Other methods for a touch-free reading experience.

NOTE: MagicReader runs on the 1st generation iPad, but the "touch-free" mode is only compatible with devices with a front-camera.
WARNING: Try not to turn your head too fast to avoid straining your neck. If you suffer neck-pain or headaches, minimize the use of the touch-free function.

Great concept - Execution not quite there yet
The concept is deserving of an award. Unfortunately I cannot seem to get the app to respond consistently. For this reason I give it three stars. It seems to be easily thwarted by even moderate background lighting (i.e. if there is a lamp or lighted window behind me). As a musician, a hands-free page turner, that does not require additional gear (i.e. Blue Tooth foot pedal) is a very exciting concept. And if that was combined with the features of some to the pdf reader apps aimed at musicians (as another musician here suggested) you would have one utterly awesome app for musicians.
Stay on it, gang. This has enormous potential.
Great new age app
The design of this app is really great. Books are in a 3D mode that you have seen on iTunes on your computer. And the head gestures are really good when you are reading something but when you are searching in the book (like going from page 1 to 10) the speed is not enough and you get tired of turning your head. But totally it is good. Worth to download it free.
I use this app with forscore to read music while playing my instrument. Although I'm still learning how to use it, I love it already. Sometimes the page turns before I turn my head. With practice, I'll figure out the quirks. Suggestions: Please provide an ad free upgrade. Please also provide a way to store, search and catalog music and/ or other documents.
