Pricey, but not disappointing
I have had Tweetbot on my iPhone for years now. I love Twitter, but have always found the native Twitter app lacking. When I started using Twitter more for work purposes, I decided to go ahead and install it on my Mac. It is impressive. Tons of features, easy to search and do a myriad of other things. The interface is clean. I really like the fact that it syncs where I left off looking at Tweets with my iPhone. This helps tremendously because I get hundreds of work-related Tweets in a day and it’s easy for Tweets to get lost without the sync feature. If you’re a frequent Twitter user, Tweetbot is worth the money. I would also add that the developers are fantastic; when I’ve had questions, they have always been quick to provide an answer.
Excellent — one request
Tweetbot is the best twitter app out there. However, there is one thing I want to be added:
I am a longtime user of twitter, and a multitude of productivity apps, such as Droplr. One of the most beneficial things about Droplr is that it runs in the background so well, working from hotkeys— this is the one thing that Tweetbot could be improved by. It needs to be able to run without a dock icon, and to draft new tweets from a hotkey (perhaps a popup menu from the menubar icon, as with Evernote). If this is added, 5 stars.
A worthwhile purchase for anyone who uses Twitter extensively.
I bought Tweetbot 3 on my iPhone and fell in love. It also made me realize how lacking the official Twitter app is. In addition to Tweetbot’s functionality, its aesthetics are also pleasing. I felt compelled to purchase Tweetbot for Mac and it was definitely worth it.
