What's New in Version 8.1
We have a new look! Our updated icon stays true to the camera and rainbow. The simpler app design puts the focus on your posts and keeps your features in the same place.
Suggestion and bug
First of all, there is a bug on Instagram, sometimes during random points of the day I will get logged out and a message will pop up that the account owner may have changed the password, but I can go and log back in without having to reset my password or anything. So please fix this. I also have a suggestion that would make Instagram a lot more enjoyable and easy to use! Instead of having to scroll through every picture in my feed and double tapping each one, what if Instagram made it so that you can set it so it will automatically like every new picture in your feed! Or if people don't want that then they could set it so it will automatically like your friends picture when they post one! Also, I often find myself liking other people's pictures to try not to be a ghost follower so they keep on following me. Did you know that constant movement of your fingers can cause arthritis? Well it can and liking pictures over and over is starting to hurt my thumbs, and I'm only 14. So Instagram, please consider this new suggestion because it would help Instagram be a lot easier to use and lighter on everyone's thumbs!
It works...love connecting with community
I only wish there were a couple features that other apps that use IG's database were incorporated. Like bookmarking users and hashtags, seeing the main screen three images across for quick scrolling, and following links placed in posts and comments. But what I MOST want is the ability to place a bookmark in my feed so I can start where I left off rather than at the newest posts. It's rather like never leaving a bookmark in a thousand page book you're trying to read and they keep adding chapters! If I only have a few minutes I don't want to scroll down until I find where I left off only to see a few posts and do it again when I come back a while later. I'd also like to be able to add a group tag to people I follow (like my swap buddies) so I can see all them at once. I haven't had very many crash or post issues. The app has been quite stable, but I don't care for the newest version with things not showing up. I don't want someone to filter my content. I can do that on my own by choosing who I follow.
Let users choose if they want chronological or not
Not giving users a choice in whether or not to use the algorithm is a really bad decision. I understand that for whatever reason, you believe this algorithm makes it easier for users to not miss posts, but that couldn't be further from the truth. I miss so many more posts now than ever before. It may be useful for people who follow thousands of accounts but for people like myself, who only follow a couple hundred, I don't have a problem with seeing all of the accounts that I follow. The algorithm is severely flawed and is not even showing me the accounts I interact with the most. I only follow accounts that I want to see, therefore I don't need you to determine who I should see. I want to see them all and in chronological order. Instagram is unfortunately owned by Facebook, but at least Facebook allows users to choose for ourselves how we will view our news feed. Please address this situation soon. My interaction had decreased severely since going to this algorithm because I fear that if I like one account too much, the stupid algorithm will think that I only want to see that account. All users are my the same and it is unfortunate that Instagram can't see that. Add chronological back asap!
