Great way to stay in touch

I have been a Linkedin user for many years. I find it very useful to stay in touch with colleagues and share interesting articles or my own posts. It is always a work in process to improve your profile. For those of you disappointed in the job search feature, work on your value statement in your profile and the jobs will come to you. Companies and recruiters are using LinkedIn, if you don't have a polished profile, you will be overlooked.

Lack of functionality compared to website

Not really sure what this is good for. Complete lack of functionality compared to the website. I get notifications that are like ghosts - I open the app after I get a notification that "Fred Bloggs is now a connection" - and all I get is the home screen. No in-app notification, no view of "Fred Bloggs'" profile - nothing. I can't even view my new connections in the app. And it shows me events from months ago.

Not really sure what they are paying people for over at LinkedIn, but it's obviously not to build a user-friendly, useful app. The most annoying part is how we're forced to use it as the desktop version isn't easily accessible from mobile devices.

Disappointing.

Terrible job search

I realize you have job search app, but since they don't seem to listen to the feedback I'm posting it here too.

You need to improve job search. Chicago is too broad of a search radius. The job could be 2 hour commute each way and still be in "Chicago".

This probably is a fundamental change to how employers post jobs too, but if the candidate is 2 hours away, is it a good fit for the employer?

Give away the "Apply with LinkedIn" functionality to squash the competition (in house and crappy 3rd party). This will hurt in the short term, but you could take over the entire market of job application management in 3 years time.

Why should you do this? Because everyone I know is sick of trying to apply on job posted on LinkedIn, but then getting dumped to another employer website where I need to fill out the same info, create another account I won't remember, and redo dozens of steps I've done a hundred times before. Lather, rinse and repeat. I'm begging you to make the pain stop!

You also need to revamp the export profile to PDF (as a resume) functionality.
