News Notifications takes advantage of Mountain Lion's brand new Notification Center to keep you on top of the news!
Add RSS feeds of your favorite websites to News Notifications. As soon as there's a new post, article or blog, you'll get a subtle notification at the top of your screen. Past notifications will be shown in Notification Center for your convenience.
We've made it incredibly easy to add feeds. Just enter the address of a website and we'll find its RSS feed for you immediately.
Set up the number of stories you want to see from each feed, decide if you want an article summary to appear and finally select the refresh time. That's it!
News Notifications is a Mountain Lion exclusive.
What's New in Version 1.1.3
News Notifications is now ready for Mac OS X Mavericks! Still compatible with Mountain Lion, too.
Also, we've resolved an issue with loading certain feeds, most notably those at Slashdot.
Destroyed by https feed
The first feed I entered happened to be served over https. News Notifier demanded I enter a username and password even though it’s a public feed. Then it worked for a moment, downloading a batch of headlines, but when I tried to quit it kept demanding a username/password for the “authenticated” feed, then it crashed. What a waste of money and time.
