VLC for Mobile is a port of the free VLC media player to iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
It can play all your movies, shows and music in most formats directly without conversion.
It allows file synchronization with Dropbox, GDrive, OneDrive, Box, iCloud Drive, iTunes, direct downloads and through WiFi sharing as well as streaming from SMB, FTP, UPnP/DLNA media servers and the web.
VLC offers support for advanced subtitles including full SSA compatibility, multi-track audio, and playback speed control.
VLC for Mobile is completely free and open source.

Mostly functional but with some serious design flaws
Videos are often choppy and error-prone. The menu design is lacking and whenever you finish or back out of an episode, you are taken back to the main library directory rather than the directory where the file belongs. There is also (absolutely ridiculously) no confirmation prompt when you delete something, nor is there a way to undo accidental deletions. I just accidentally deleted a whole show rather than one episode thanks to this silliness. Absolutely inexcusable design.
Glitch on the One Drive Cloud - Fixed
Now that the glitch on the One Drive cloud has been fixed this is back in my opinion the best Player out there...only complaint that it took so long to fix. It was working perfectly before 3-4 updates ago. Just don't fix something that's not broken. Giving it back 5 stars.
Has potential
This could be a great alternative music player, the interface is user friendly and there are lots of useful features. Unfortunately, the way music is organized makes it far less useful. There should be an option to view folders as they are put on the app with iTunes file sharing, instead it "organizes" in a somewhat random fashion. 5 stars if this is fixed.
