Reseña de álbum

The final studio work by the band — Sean Tyla (vocals, guitar), Martin Belmont (guitar), Mick Groom (bass), and Tim Roper (drums) — is as good as anything the group ever did on RCA. This album, an expanded version of their Jumpin' EP from Skydog, opens up with a high-energy version of "I Fought the Law" that makes Bobby Fuller's original sound like the work of a high-school band. Two very different versions of "Something's Going On," a killer version of "Here Comes the Night," the romantic rocker "Amsterdam Dog" (highlighted by some great electric slide), the funky "Cannons of the Boogie Night," and the anthem-like "Rock and Roll for Every Boy and Girl" (which opens almost like a burlesque of the finale of the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again") are some of the remaining highlights. The nine Ducks Deluxe tracks are rounded out with two lesser Sean Tyla-produced songs from Left Hand Drive, and all of it is played with a drive, passion, and precision that makes All Too Much all too difficult to resist, especially as a standard-price release.

One of the first pub rock bands, the Ducks played basic American-style blues and boogie with remarkable...
