Reseña de álbum

Acid House Kings' 2005 release Sing Along with Acid House Kings was one of the year's highlights for lovers of frothy indie pop. Packed with great songs and note-perfect production from indie hero Johan Angergard, the record was both soothing and terribly exciting at once. This EP contains two of the record's finest songs, the gently grooving Motown-with-strings-inspired "Do What You Wanna Do" and the sweet and snappy "This Heart Is a Stone." It also has four more examples of the band's understated genius, each of which was good enough to have been on the album, especially the melancholy ballad "Come Josephine" and the musically peppy/sad lyrically "Keep Your Love." It is a shame the band's U.S. label didn't see fit to release any of the tracks from the intriguing limited-edition EP of Swedish artists like Lasse Lindh and the very great Montt Mardie doing covers of songs from Sing Along. Regardless of that minor annoyance, anyone who fell under the feel-good spell of the Kings in 2005 will need this EP.

Signing to the German label Marsh Marigold, the group issued its debut EP, Play Pop!, in early 1992,...
