Reseña de álbum

One of Spain's most popular pop/rock artists since his '80s heyday with El Último de la Fila, Manolo Garcia is renowned for the care he devotes to his projects. Not content with being producer, composer, arranger, and singer of his own records, Garcia also individually picks supporting musicians to suit the concept of every new album. After the Mediterranean airs of 2008's Saldremos a la Lluvia (recorded in Greece), Garcia felt like making a back-to-roots rock album. Thus, he flew to Los Angeles to work with session pros such as Leland Sklar, Waddy Wachtel, and Kenny Aronoff, and eventually went back to his usual studio in Figueres to complete the album. Los Días Intactos introduces 14 new compositions by Garcia (plus two alternate versions), in what is probably his most direct, straightforward work in years. Even so, since Garcia is above all things a homogeneous songwriter, the ultimate result comes down to yet another crop of finely crafted songs — which suits his audience just fine, as the album went straight to number one in Spain.
