Light is an interactive textbook aimed at students aged from 10 to 14, featuring an inter-disciplinary, active and dynamic approach toward the phenomenon of light.
As well as including all the contents in the student’s book, the teacher’s book also features materials such as teaching suggestions, complementary activities and contents and guidelines for assessment, providing teachers with support when using the book in an educational context.
This teaching guide features the same psycho-educational focus as the CaleidoBooks collection and develops the treatment of light in the different chapters of the book. It offers a transversal vision of the nature of light and its applications based on four distinct thematic axes, each one approached from the academic fields of Technology, Visual and Fine Art, Social Science and Natural Science. In the teacher’s book, these subjects overlap and tie in with their corresponding objectives and educational contents in a timely fashion. The basic skills related to each are also specified, as well as the multiple intelligences and the levels on Bloom’s Taxonomy.
Each chapter thus features a description of the specific objectives and types of contents, states the suggestions for study in light of classroom diversity and in terms of both reinforcement and extension, and links the activities to multimedia and interactive resources. The rubric in the suggested assessment method is also linked as an editable text file.
The teacher’s book includes concrete teaching suggestions for working on in each section, as well as complementary activities or alternative uses in line with the specific objectives and resources completing those in the student’s book.
