Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour presents Madama Butterfly

World-class opera in a spectacular setting. Madama Butterfly is one of opera's greatest tragic tales: the story of an innocent young Japanese girl, Cio-Cio-San, and the American naval officer Benjamin Franklin Pinkerton, who wins her love and then betrays her, with devastating consequences. Puccini's glorious music, including the Humming Chorus and 'Un bel di', is performed on the shores of Sydney Harbour, with the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge as a backdrop, brilliant fireworks illuminating the night sky, and a lavish production directed by Alex Ollé.
