This project from the Doggfather is something of a musical mystery, with no clear-cut single, limited promotion, and several songs where he literally passes the mic to his latest generation of protégés (Chris Starr, The Hood Boyz, and Ndastree). Things get off to a promising start with the sublimely funky, lush, and soulful vibe of "1st We Blaze It Up." The next tracks, "Stoner's Anthem" and "Really Wanna Be with You," are both so mellow that they almost sound like lullabies. Longtime homies Tha Dogg Pound get busy on "Make It Hot," and the Neptunes-lite steez of "Show You How a Gangster Do" is definitely catchy and completely chilled out.
