Album Review

Noted minimalist composer Steve Roach produced this exuberant album. There is nothing minimalist about this jubilant, Canadian-African exercise in dynamic music. Represented is a plethora of African tribal rhythms. This bright and celebratory palette paints a vigorous, colorful soundscape. A thick booklet gives instrumentation and notes on each track. The artists themselves and their singular tools are also explored in detail. This tireless CD is a workhorse for incarnating sunshine and a festive atmosphere.
