Frontiers: Original Soundrack Themes compiles Jerry Goldsmith's classic movie themes from the science fiction movies Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien, Total Recall, Star Trek: First Contact, Twilight Zone: The Movie, Logan's Run, Capricorn One and Star Trek: Voyager. It is also the first place that his music for The Illustrated Man and Damnation Alley has been released. Although this music is not represented by original soundtrack recordings, these versions by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra are quite compelling in their own right, demonstrating what a resourceful, clever composer Goldsmith can be.
