An affectionate tribute to the romantic and dramatic Andalusian coplas he grew up with, Pasión Española is the 2008 release from legendary tenor Plácido Domingo. Recorded at Teatro Albeniz with the backing of the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid and Miguel Roa, the nostalgic album, which Domingo describes as 13 mini-operas, feature songs originally written between 1930 and 1950 by Manuel Lopez-Quiroga Miquel, Antonio Alvarez Alonso, and Juan Mostazo Morales, AND made famous by the likes of Concha Piquer, Imperio Argentina, and Lola Flores. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi
