Customer Reviews

A great album by Ravi Shankar

Ravi Shankar takes you through a sublime musical journey here. He starts with the early morning raga "Bairagi Todi" which sets an invocative and serene/humble mood - around 26 minutes of ecstacy. Then he moves on to an evening raga of great aesthetic beauty -- "Gaud Sarang" -- which clearly brings out his total mastery over the instrument. The last piece is a light classical composition in the romantic night raga called "Mishra Gara". "Mishra" means "mixed" and it gives him the ability to mix other ragas into the main theme and thus enhance the overall beauty of the performance. Overall, an excellent album for the lovers of beautiful music.
