Cap Enragé

Cap Enragé

This 1997 album marked a creative rebirth for Acadian rocker Zachary Richard, who'd been singing in English and promoted as The Cajun Mick Jagger. Following his artistic muse, he tones down the rock sound and sings exclusively in French. There are gorgeous, slow-paced songs like "Marjolaine", atmospheric production with acoustic guitars and muted keyboards on "Petit Codiac" and emotive vocals everywhere, with a traditionally styled French waltz, "Travailler C'est Trop Dur", for the finale. Only "Johnny Danser" harks back to his early, rocking sound.
