About Bombalurina

England-born children’s television presenter Timmy Mallett enjoyed an unlikely UK number 1 in the summer of 1990 when Bombalurina recorded an asinine version of ‘Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polkadot Bikini’. Replete with unnecessary vocal interludes (several ‘aah yeah’s), it was followed by the no more appealing cover version of ‘Seven Little Girls Sitting In The Back Seat’. This peaked at number 18 in November 1990, and preceded the release of a debut album, Huggin’ And A Kissin’. An appalling collection of novelty songs such as ‘Hoots Mon’, ‘She Taught Me How To Yodel’ and ‘They’re Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!’, thankfully, it was the last that was heard of Bombalurina, and Timmy Mallett returned to his career as a presenter.
