About Fivel
Wanting to bring out the sophisticated indie pop sounds to their hometown of Stockholm, Sweden, vocalist Annika got Fivel together in 1994 with Tristan (bass), Linda (drums), and Mirke (guitar). With a year of local gigs a two demos floating around, the Swedish indie label North of No South hooked up with Fivel after a number of major-label offers. With Fivel's 1996 debut fittingly titled Fivel exclusively released in Sweden, Australia, Japan, Denmark, and Norway, their next EP, 57, came out a year later. Following a lengthy tour of Sweden at the end of 1997, the band experienced a lineup shake that resulted in Annika remaining as the only original member of Fivel, not that she was going to let that stop her from discontinuing Fivel's experience. ~ Mike DaRonco
