About Jack-O & The Tennesse Tearjerkers

In addition to being a founding member of seminal garage punk outfit the Oblivians, Jack Oblivian (ne Yarber) has played in such bands as the Knaughty Knights, the '68 Comeback, the Cool Jerks, Johnny Vomit and the Dry Heaves, the Compulsive Gamblers and Tav Falco's Panther Burns. As a solo artist, however, he most frequently plays under the title of Jack-O and his Tennessee Tearjerkers. While garage rock might be the easist genre to pin on the sounds Yarber makes with this particular outfit, a whole host of roots and rock sounds can be sussed out, from country and straight blues to bits of swamp pop, R&B, and even glam.
