About Julianna Zobrist

Julianna Zobrist (born Julianna Joy Gilmore) is a singer and songwriter of Christian music, specifically dance-pop-styled CCM. Born in Orlando, Florida and raised in Florida and Iowa City, Iowa, she started taking piano lessons at the age of seven. She continued to show an interest in music as well as writing poetry throughout her formative years, and moved to Nashville after high school to study voice at Belmont University. The musician married professional baseball player Ben Zobrist in 2005 and found work in Nashville managing acts including CCM band Plumb. Zobrist finished her bachelor's degree in 2007 and self-released her debut EP, The Tree, the following year. The Zobrists started a family soon after, with Ben by then playing in the major leagues. Never abandoning plans for a career in music, Julianna released her second EP, Say It Now, in 2012. In the meantime, she and her husband went to work writing an autobiography that focused on the role of religion in their lives. Co-authored by Mike Yorkey, Double Play was published by B&H Books in the spring of 2014. In 2015, Zobrist released the Christian pop singles "The Dawn" and "Alive" from her full-length debut. Shatterproof arrived via Fuel Music in July 2016. ~ Marcy Donelson
