In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 5 I joined by first kids choir at church but really I just wanted to play drums and DJ. Finally I remember getting my first turntables at 12 and DJing everyday after school for years until I finally started singing again and writing songs. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Broken Social Scene, You Forgot It in People Radiohead, Kid A The Roots, Game Theory (Bonus Track Version) Bonus Track Version Broken Social Scene taught me to love chaotic, free spirited production. The Roots introduced me to the beauty of a creative community and turning pain into power. Radiohead taught me to experiment, and that soul comes in many forms. Tell us why you chose this song. “Joy” This song really captures the type of uplifting, raw spiritual lyrics I write, the production style I learned from Broken Social Scene as a kid, the hip hop feel from my years DJing and the orchestral elements we love to incorporate. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The first time we sold out a show in Sydney Australia for 1,200 people, it felt unreal since we had no label. When we were banned from every christian bookstore and festival in the US, I knew we were carving a new lane. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
