About Les Discrets

A French post-metal group designed and directed by multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, artist, and film director Fursy Teyssier, Les Discrets transcend the traditional metal genre via an atmosphere-driven blend of post-rock and blackened shoegaze. Formed in 2003 as a musical side project for Teyssier, who was then a member of the band Phest and an in-demand illustrator, the outfit eventually expanded to a trio with the additions of vocalist Audrey Hadorn and drummer Winterhalter, the latter of whom sits behind the kit with fellow French art-metallers Alcest, and used to play with Teyssier in the post-punk/black metal outfit Amesoeurs. In 2009, Les Discrets inked a deal with Prophecy Productions and issued a split EP with Alcest. 2010 saw the release of their debut full-length outing, Septembre et Ses Dernières Pensées, which was followed by Ariettes Oubliées in 2012. Winterhalter and live bassist Neige left the project in 2013 to focus on Alcest, but Les Discrets continued to operate with Teyssier and Hadorn behind the wheel. The duo released their third studio long-player, Prédateurs, in early 2017. ~ James Christopher Monger
